- CELEBRATION TIME – COME ALONG
---
We are planning a party… A Birthday Party…. Not just any party, but a
birthday party for our Town of West Union. A celebration of deep history. That’s
right; on July 22, 2006 our Town is celebrating the first 125 years!!!
Plans have begun, but each of you are a part of our town’s history – each of you
have stories to tell, history to relive and a dream for our future… So we are
asking for your help. We need churches, businesses, and organizations to write
about themselves. Tell us your history, how you got started, where you came
from, and where you are today. West Union and the people who live here are full
of deep wonderful history, and we want you to share that with us.
These articles will be put in a scrapbook and kept by the Doddridge County
Historical Society. Articles can be sent to the Town of West Union, PO Box
5, 300 Court Street, West Union, WV 26456.
In order to be included, please turn in your information by Monday, April 3rd,
2006.
Did you know that our Town has a Newsletter? It’s on the web and FREE to
anyone with an email address. Contact

If your business or organization has a website and would like to be linked
through the Town of West Union website,
http://www.westunion-wv.com , contact the above email address also. This would
be a great advertisement for your business and/or organization.
We would also like to develop a directory for the Town. To be part of
this, just send us the name of your organization, address, email, website, and
contact person’s name and title.
As you can see, there is a lot to do, and I just covered a few of the things,
but we need your help. If you have any ideas or can offer any help, please feel
free to call Fran at City Hall: 873-1400 or email at the above address.
Also look for future articles in the West Union Herald for information on the
celebration.
Help us celebrate our rich history and help us make history for the NEXT 125
years!!!
