DCARS: Amateur Radio Station WU8WV will be on the air" talking with other amateur radio operators nationwide, and issuing a special "QSL" Card and Certificate for all radio operators who make contact with the station during this event on July 22, 2006. These special "acknowledgements of communication" are prized and collected by many hams as a hobby within a hobby.
Ham operators attending the festival are invited to be guest operators and take their turn at the microphone as ambassadors of the event and the amateur radio hobby.
